CBSERevision.com ("we", "us", "our") is an online educational platform for CBSE students in India. We operate the website at cbserevision.com and all associated services.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect: payment card details (handled by Razorpay), Aadhaar or PAN numbers, sensitive personal information beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide our services — delivering notes, quizzes, progress tracking, and all platform features
• To personalise your experience — recommending topics, adapting difficulty, showing relevant content
• To communicate with you — sending progress reports, important updates, and responding to support requests
• To process payments — managing subscriptions and billing through Razorpay
• To improve the platform — analysing usage patterns to fix bugs and improve content quality
• For safety and security — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access
• Legal compliance — meeting our obligations under applicable Indian laws

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only in these circumstances:

Service providers

• Supabase — database and authentication (data stored on AWS servers)
• Anthropic — AI processing for the Doubt Solver (queries processed, not stored for training)
• Razorpay — payment processing (they receive only what's necessary for payment)
• Resend — email delivery for account and progress emails

Parent/Guardian access

If you link a parent account, your parent/guardian can view your grade, quiz scores, topics completed, and last active date. They cannot see your password or AI doubt queries.

Legal requirements

We may disclose data if required by Indian law, court order, or governmental authority.

All third-party service providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase (hosted on AWS). We implement:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
• Encrypted password storage using industry-standard hashing
• Row-level security policies restricting data access per user
• Regular security reviews of our systems and access controls

While we take reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

6. Children's Privacy

We take the protection of children's data especially seriously. Our platform is designed for students from Grade 6 onwards (approximately age 11+).

• We collect only the minimum data necessary for educational purposes
• We do not show third-party advertisements to any users
• We do not share children's data with marketing companies
• Parent accounts allow guardian oversight of their child's activity
• Parents may request deletion of their child's data at any time

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, please contact us at hello@eduwebtech.com and we will delete the account promptly.

7. Cookies

We use minimal, essential cookies only:

• Authentication cookies — to keep you logged in during your session
• Preference cookies — to remember your settings (e.g. grade selection)

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics that track you across the internet. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to log in.

8. AI Features & Data

When you use the AI Doubt Solver, your questions are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Important points:

• Anthropic processes queries to generate responses but does not use your queries to train their AI models per their data usage policies
• Your doubt queries are stored in our database to provide history and improve your experience
• We do not use your doubt queries for any purpose other than providing the service
• You can request deletion of your AI query history by contacting support

9. Payments

All payment processing is handled by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We never store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials on our servers. We only store:

• Transaction reference IDs from Razorpay
• Your subscription plan and billing period
• Payment status (success/failure)

10. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

11. Data Retention

• Active accounts — data retained as long as your account is active
• Deleted accounts — personal data deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law
• Support tickets — retained for 2 years for quality assurance
• Learning data — quiz scores and progress deleted when account is deleted

12. Third-Party Services

Our platform integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Supabase — supabase.com/privacy
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — anthropic.com/privacy
• Razorpay — razorpay.com/privacy
• Google Fonts — fonts loaded from Google servers (no tracking)
• YouTube — embedded videos may use YouTube cookies when played

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.

Continued use of CBSERevision after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
